A Journey Rooted in Agriculture

As a proud son of a farming family, agriculture has always been more than just work for me — it's been a way of life. I'm Raakesh M., currently pursuing my undergraduate studies at DG Vaishnav College, Chennai. Though I grew up surrounded by fields and harvests, I never saw agriculture merely as a business. To me, it's about the deep satisfaction of growing the best — in both quality and quantity.

Growing up, I witnessed the harsh realities that farmers face. Despite months of hard work and excellent yields, the prices often didn't justify the effort. When supply increased, prices fell; when quality improved, markets failed to respond. I have seen the disappointment on my parents' faces after a good harvest yielded poor returns — not due to lack of effort, but due to lack of market access and awareness.

As I grew older, I began exploring how agricultural markets function beyond local mandis. Through social media and online research, I discovered the vast global demand for Indian agricultural commodities — and the stark gap between what international buyers were willing to pay and what farmers were actually receiving.
